What do Weird Al, Hozier, Blind Pilot, and Laika have in common? This year’s Bedstock festival, that's what. The musicians have each made a music video from their beds for sick children who have to spend the holiday season in theirs, as part of an annual online music festival to raise money for the Portland-based Children’s Cancer Association and its MyMusicRx program, which brings music to hospitalized kids across the country.)

The weeklong festival and fundraising event launched on Tuesday, November 27, and runs through December 4, with all manner of pop and rock stars—Jeff Tweedy, Walk the Moon, Lisa Loeb, and Mike Phillips among them—airing acoustic tunes from their beds. This year, local animation studio Laika was also inspired to put together an edit of bedroom scenes and musical sequences from its catalog of films to help raise money for Bedstock. Laika’s special release joins the videos from more than 75 musicians, many of which were filmed locally in the green rooms of Portland venues like Revolution Hall, the Doug Fir, and the Wonder Ballroom. Amateur musicians are invited to step up to the Bedstock challenge by filming their own performances and uploading them to social media under the tag #BedstockChallenge. Since its inception in 2014, Bedstock has featured hundreds of bands and artists and raised hundreds of thousands for the Children’s Cancer Association, with entries coming from all over the world.
