To quote Aidy Bryant as she drives through a dreary stretch of Oregon pasture in the new Shrill teaser: “Bad news, bitch.”
Hulu’s Portland-shot dramedy—an adaptation of Lindy West’s memoir of the same name—will end once and for all after its upcoming third season. As certified stans from the very beginning, we’re admittedly heartbroken. But there’s room for celebration yet: that final season now has a premiere date.
Season 3 of Shrill will hit Hulu on May 7, and Thursday afternoon, the streaming service dropped the first new footage from Bryant and co in over a year. The teaser is brief (like, 20-seconds-long brief), but there are riches: Bryant, Jo Firestone, Patti Harrison, and Lolly Adefope glammed up in a dive bar parking lot; an appearance from new-to-the-show comedian Whitmer Thomas; John Cameron Mitchell squawking into a handheld mic. See for yourself:
And while you wait for May to roll around, check out our interview with Shrill producer and Portland native Max Handelman from last year.
