There’s nothing more satisfying than nestling into a seat and gorging popcorn and coke for a couple hours while watching the big screen. Actually, there is: paying $4 for that movie ticket.

This Sunday, August 27, this dream can be yours, as you catch any movie for $4 on National Cinema Day.

The initiative, which kicked off in 2022, was created by the National Cinema Foundation in an effort to lure back customers after the pandemic, as well as fill seats during Labor Day Weekend, which is often a very slow weekend in the industry. Last year, the promotion resulted in $24.3 million in box office returns, with ticket prices at $3.

Nationwide, movie ticket prices averaged nearly $11 last year—making the cost of a flick out of reach for many families. Over 3,000 theaters, including chains like Regal and AMC, are participating in National Cinema Day. Here are the Portland-area indie theaters where you can catch a $4 flick:

The Academy Theater
Bagdad Theater & Pub
Cinema 21
The CineMagic Theater
Laurelhurst Theater
Living Room Theaters
Kennedy School Theater
Regal Fox Tower
Regal Pioneer Place
St. Johns Theater and Pub
