Soter Vineyards
Our Critic's Top Wine Picks

Over the past decade, Oregon native Tony Soter has surprised many in the wine world. In 2001 he sold the majority of his incredibly successful Napa-based winery, Etude, and began tending full-time to a pinot noir vineyard he’d planted in the Yamhill-Carlton winemaking district. Now that the vines have finally matured, Soter, along with vintner James Cahill, has begun making expressive, raspberry-flavored pinot noirs (and a masterful chardonnay sparkler) that prove Soter Vineyards to be one of the hottest young pinot houses in Oregon. —Condé Cox
