Fried Green Tomatoes
Serves 2
INGREDIENTS: 2 green tomatoes, sliced ¼ inch thick, 1 cup buttermilk, ½ cup semolina mixed with ½ cup flour
1 FILL a large pot with olive oil about 2 inches deep.
2 HEAT oil to 350 degrees. Dip tomatoes in buttermilk, then in semolina mixture. Shake off excess.
3 PLACE each piece of tomato in oil and fry until crisp and golden, about 2 minutes, turning halfway through.
4 SERVE hot with aioli.
