Gaufre Gourmet’s addictive maple bacon waffles will be moving downtown starting in November.

The newest Bunk Sandwiches has opened on SW 6th next to Little Bird and Lauretta Jean’s Pies, in the space the once housed Hillbilly Bento (211 SW 6th). As of today, the space is open for breakfast and lunch, seven days a week, from 8 am to 3 pm. Expect your favorite items on the menu—the sandwich offerings are the same as those at the flagship SE Morrison location.

SE Morrison’s new taco spot, Robo Taco, is now open for late-night service (607 SE Morrison). The spot—which is nestled in the same two blocks as Dig A Pony and Bunk Sandwiches—is offering tacos, burritos, and tortas with real and faux meat from 10 pm until around 3:30 am. Regular hours (including all-day breakfast) start after Halloween. (Blogtown)

Food Carts Portland reports that the Green Castle cart pod will be closing at the end of October, sending poor, temporarily homeless carts to separate corners of Portland. Viking Soul Food and SushiPDX are headed to SE Belmont’s Good Food Here pod, Gaufre Gourmet (pictured above) will move downtown to the SW 9th and Alder pod, and Burger Guild’s new location is TBA.

Looking for a local alternative to tasteless diet meals? Garden State’s Kevin Sandri’s follow-up gig to his shuttered food cart (RIP) has just been announced on Eater PDX: the chef will be the top culinary dog for Farm to Fit, a start-up "diet meal service that is calorie based/portion controlled, always fresh and as local as possible." Grüner’s Christopher Israel is also tacked on to the project as a consultant, and the extensive menu is slated to include favorite dishes from Garden State. The program will launch on November 1; more details at the Farm to Fit website. (Eater PDX)

Former Carafe Bistro chef Pascal Sauton’s Milwaukie Kitchen & Wine is set to open this week on Main Street in the suburb just south of Portland’s east side. (The Oregonian has the full details.)
