Need some events to get you through the early December mid-holiday slump? Here’s this week’s list of upcoming food, beer, and wine events to help you stay in the know.

Dishcrawl’s Sandwich Showdown in Nob Hill
What: A progressive dinner issuing a challenge to three Northwest Portland sandwich shops, including Kenny & Zukes Sandwichworks (dishing up Reuben sliders with Pastrami, swiss, kraut and russian grilled on rye), PBJ’s Grilled (offing the Oregonian with challah, Marionberry jam, Rogue Creamery blue cheese, and hazelnut butter and the Spicy Thai with challah, orange marmalade, sriracha, fresh basil, curry, and peanut butter), and Lela’s Bistro (serving a Beef Bulgogi Banh Mi with housemade Kim Chi). Dessert will be ice cream sandwiches from What’s The Scoop? (scheduled to open a brick & mortar location summer 2012).
When: Tuesday, November 29 at 7 pm.
Where: Northwest Portland
How Much: $26 per person, tickets can be purchased online.

A Victorian Dinner Salon with Tracy Talley, din din Supper Club and Red Slate Wine
What: A throw-back (way back) dinner featuring the best of Victorian cuisine and culture, with wine pairings. The menu is set to include oysters and gougeres, duck consommé, foie gras mousse with candied fennel and quince, duck breast with tangerine sabayon, lemon curd pavlova with pomegranates, and Kirsch-soaked genoise with hazelnut marzipan. Revelry will include blindfolded musical chairs, lively flute music, and a sketch artist. Guests are encouraged to don their Victorian finery.
When: Friday and Saturday, December 2nd and 3rd at 6:30
Where: Red Slate Wine, 107 SE Washington St #133

Scott Paul PDX Event Space Debut
What: The unveiling of Scott Paul Wines new event space—Scott Paul PDX—in Northwest Portland. The Oregon winery and local Burgundy and Champagne importers were recently featured on the cover of Food & Wine magazine, and are now opening the doors of their first Portland retail and tasting room with a wine-soaked bash. Sample a flight of five featured Champagnes, and raise a glass to the increase of great Oregon wine available without leaving the city.
When: Sunday, December 4th, 2 to 5 pm.
Where: Scott Paul PDX 2537-A NW Upshur St. (between 25th and 26th, Portland)
How Much: Champagne flight is $20, refunded with 3-bottle purchase of featured wines. Free nibbles from NW Portland eateries.

PDX TXOKO with Crown Paella + Viridian Farms
What: First in a series of dinners celebrating the culinary regions of Spain, beginning with Rioja. Chef Scott Ketterman of Crown Paella will whip up fire-roasted Spanish chestnuts, pimientos del piquillo stuffed with handmade morcilla, cardoons with almonds and jamón, grilled lamb chops with caparrones de Anguiano, and torrijas with orange scented ice cream, with regional wine pairings. Although Spanish in origin, many of the ingredients used throughout the meal are grown in Oregon by Viridian Farms.
When: Sunday, December 4 at 6 pm.
Where: Beaker & Flask, 720 SE Sandy Blvd

Author Molly Stevens Gets Roasted with Jason French at Ned Ludd
What: A celebration of James Beard Award-winning author Molly Stevens new book "All About Roasting: A New Approach to a Classic Art" with Chef Jason French at NE Portland’s Ned Ludd. Indulge in a menu inspired by the new cookbook—think roasted trout with tomato-orange relish, roasted quail with shallots, and maple-brined pork loin with onion, apples, and a mustard crust—meet the author, and get a copy of the book for yourself or the folks on your gift list.
When: Tuesday, December 6th at 6:30 pm.
Where: Ned Ludd, 3925 NE MLK Blvd, Portland
How Much: $80 per person, includes dinner, wine, and cookbook. Reservations required. Call Ned Ludd at 503-288-6900 by 5 pm on Monday December 5.

BridgePort Brewing Company’s 3rd Annual Ebenezer Pub Crawl in Multnomah Village
What: Sip your way through Multnomah Village, including stops at John’s Market, The Ship, Journey’s, Renner’s, Jimmy’s, and O’Connors. You’ll also have a chance to win BridgePort swag and prizes like a complete snowboard package, lift tickets to Mount Hood Meadows and gift certificates to the brewpub.
When: Thursday, December 8 at 5 pm.
Where: Crawl begins at John’s Market; 3535 SW Multnomah Blvd.
How Much: Pint prices vary, crawl will include free samples and prizes.

Grower Champagne Dinner at Castagna
What: An evening of modern cuisine and grower Champagnes with Chef Justin Woodward, Sommelier Jack Hott, and Brian Martin of Galaxy Wines. The dinner will feature four courses paired with bubbly, including winter squash "hot and cold" with wild char roe, razor clams with walnut custard, mead and scallop broth, and rockfish with cabbage, seaweed and mussels.
When: Thursday, December 8 at 6:30 pm.
Where: Castagna 1752 SE Hawthorne Blvd
How Much: $100 per person, including dinner and champagne pairings. For reservations, call 503-231-7373.
