Tasty liquid nitrogen-powered treats are coming to a new scoop shop on N Williams.

Sellwood: Corkscrew Wine Bar is launching a weekly “French Café Tuesday” supper with the help of chef Gabriel Gabresky (from neighboring a Cena Ristorante). Each Tuesday from 6 to 10 pm, the wine bar will offer a menu of regional French favorites. The prix fixe menu is just $25, with wine pairings for an additional $15 (a la carte dishes will also be available). 1665 SE Bybee
Hawthorne: Micah Camden and Katie Poppe’s sushi-only restaurant Boxer is set to open Tuesday, May 1st. The eatery is located next to SE Hawthorne’s Blue Pig Cafe, and will feature chef Ian Skomski’s take on real-deal sushi (Eater PDX reports the menu will include scallop sashimi with ugli fruit and a roasted abalone mushroom sashimi decked with Momofuku’s octopus vinaigrette). 1524 SE 20th Ave.

NE Alberta: Hawthorn’s popular (and oft-photographed) Waffle Window will be expanding to a second location on NE Alberta and 26th. The wafflers will take over the space most recently occupied by Kush Cafe, and the new eatery is set to open in May. 2624 NE Alberta St
NE Alberta: Wine bar Bin 21 has opened on Alberta next to Salt & Straw and Bollywood Theater. The spot features a small-but-mighty selection of wines and beers on tap and a menu boasting salads, sandwiches, and charcuterie from Fino in Fondo and Chop. The cozy space will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11 am to 9 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 9 pm. 5011 NE 21st Ave
NE Killingsworth & 30th: Cupcake bakery Robots Love Cupcakes has relocated from N Williams to NE 30th’s Restaurant Row (home to Yakuza, Beast, DOC, Cocotte, and Autentica). In addition to custom cake and cupcake orders, the small bakery will offer classic sweet treats (with many vegan and gluten-free options). 5400 NE 30th Ave #103

SW Sixth: The Original is launching a new Happy Hour menu this Friday (available Monday through Friday 4:30 to 6 pm), and is set to include house-made poppycock, fried pickled veggies, $4 BLT wedge salad, a $6 burger, and $5 house-smoked baby back ribs (as well as $2 Cosby shots, a daily punch, and some new signature cocktails). In addition, the "dinerant" has launched Homegrown Wednesdays, a weekly shindig featuring cocktail specials made with locally distilled spirits. 300 SW 6th Avenue

Pearl District: Jamison Square’s Cloud Seven Cafe will close and reopen as Super Jet, a wine shop from the owners of Portland’s Blackbird Wineshop and Atomic Cheese. 901 NW Tenth Ave.

N Williams: Jodie Ostrovsky’s liquid nitrogen-powered ice cream shop What’s the Scoop? will be opening in June at 3540 North Williams Avenue. The scoop shop will occupy a new building on the corner of Williams and Fremont, so stay tuned for photos and first licks.

Coffeeland: The U.S. Barista Championships just wrapped up in Portland and local representative Devin Chapman of Coava Coffee nabbed fourth place in the heated competition. First place winner Katie Carguilo hails from New York City’s Counter Culture Coffee.
Feasty: Another week, another celebrity chef confirmed for Feast Portland. Food Network judge and Latin food expert Aarón Sánchez will bring his culinary skills to PDX for the big event September 20th through 23rd.
Meaty Bits: Portland-based butcher and founder of the Portland Meat Collective Camas Davis is featured in a new Wusthof cutlery campaign. Check out the "pöetic" video featuring Davis (a former Portland Monthly food writer) here.
