Roots Restaurant and Bar L’ecole Winery Dinner

What: A five course dinner featuring wines from L’ecole Winery and satisfying dishes from chef Brad Root including Albacore tuna tar tar with fried green tomato, short rib ravioli with cabernet marinara, grass fed beef tenderloin with creamed corn, and Valrohna chocolate pot de creme topped off with local berries.
When: Thursday, August 9th

The Bite of Oregon

What: Portland’s annual waterfront food festival, featuring food and drink vendors, cooking competitions, chef demonstations, kids activities, live music, craft beer, and more. Proceeds from The Bite benefit The Special Olympics of Oregon.
When: August 10th and 11th from 11 am to 10 pm, and August 12th from 11 am to 8 pm.
Where: The Bite of Oregon at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland.
How Much: $5 each day, kinds 12 and under are free. Get your advance tickets here.

Allium Bistro’s Vineyard Dinner at Tualatin Estate

What: Seven summery dishes from Allium’s Chef-Proprietor Pascal Chureau, served overlooking some of Oregon’s best vines and paired with wines from Willamette Valley Vineyards. Winemaker Don Crank will be on hand to share the stories behind Tualatin Estate Vineyard in Forest Grove by leading a vineyard tour before dinner. Dishes will include heirloom tomato salad with truffle scented mozzarella and watermelon, followed by braised snapper with roasted fennel and saffron infused couscous, and Carlton Farms Pork Rack with corn, succotash, Andouille sausage and thyme jus.
When: Saturday, August 11th, Guided Vineyard Tour at 5:30 pm, reception at 6:00, and dinner at 6:30.

EaT: An Oyster Bar Louisiana Crawfish Boil

What: Party Louisiana style at EaT: An Oyster Bar, with fresh Louisiana crawfish, corn, and potatoes starting at 12:30 until the crawfish run out. Regular menu will also be available for your weekend dining pleasure.
When: Saturday, August 11th at 12:30 pm
Where: EaT: An Oyster Bar 3808 N. Williams Ave
How Much: Crawfish boil is $21 per person. No reservations required.

Basque Food and Wine Txak Parti

What: An afternoon of flavorful Spanish wine selected by Cork Bottle Shop’s Darryl Joannides and Basque-inspired bites from Xocolatl de David, Tabla, Toro Bravo, Aviary, Bar Lolo and Ned Ludd. For full details, check out our featured event post on Eat Beat.
When: Saturday, August 11th from noon to 5 pm
Where: The event tent will be set up at Northeast 29th and Alberta, as a part of the fifteenth-annual Alberta Street Fair.

Salt & Straw Ice Cream Dinner at Lincoln

What: A multi-course collaborative dinner from Lincoln’s executive chef Jenn Louis featuring a variety of Salt & Straw ice cream flavors from head ice cream maker Tyler Malek. For the dinner, Louis and the Salt & Straw team carefully chose ice cream flavors and textures that enhance the ingredients used in each dish—including Strozzapreti with hazelnut ice cream and braised pork with tomatoes, bacon and Summer Sweet Corn Buttermilk Sherbet.
When: Wednesday, August 15th at 6:30 pm

Metrovino 9-Course Sherry Pairing Dinner

What: A 9-course dinner showcasing the Sherries of Emilio Lustau, highlighting the delicious diversity of today’s Sherry offerings (from light and dry like a Mazanilla, to rich and sweet like a Pedro Ximenéz). Chef Dustin See and Todd Steele have collaborated with European wine expert Drake McCarthy of Europvin to create a Spanish inspired menu just as dynamic as the wines being showcased.
When: Wednesday, August 15th at 6:30

Hawaii’s Prima Pops Up at Iorio

What: A showcase of one of Oahu’s hottest new restaurants, Prima. Chef owners Alejandro “Aker” Briceno, Lindsey Ozawa, and chef de cuisine Kevin Lee will take over the kitchen at Iorio for a night, offering an eight course tasting menu featuring the best of modern Hawaiian cuisine—think the freshest fish, beef, and produce from the Aloha State and Portland area. Serving a selection of craft cocktails to compliment the menu will be Dave Power, one of Hawaii’s most respected bartenders and owner of The Feral Pig on Kauai.
When: Monday, August 20th at 6:30
