Kenny & Zuke's 5 Year Anniversary Special

What: All three Kenny  Zuke's locations will offer a buy-one-get-one-for-five-cents bagel special to celebrate five years of Portland's favorite deli. The weeklong special will feature the 5th Anniversary Egg Bagel, sprinkled with Maine Coast Sea Salt from The Meadow’s Mark Bitterman.
When: October 22nd through 28th
Where Kenny & Zuke’s Delicatessen (1038 SW Stark), Bagelworks (2376 NW Thurman), and Deli Bar (3901 N. Williams Ave)
How Much: Buy one bagel, get one for five cents, all week long. 

Cava Tasting and Saber Lesson at Bar Vivant

What: A special evening of Spanish Cava tastings with lauded producer Augusti Torello Mata, featuring tapas and sabering 101. Guests will sample the range of products from this Spanish Cava producer, including Brut Reserva, Rosat Trepat, Gran Reserva Barrica and Kripta Gran Reserva.
When: Saturday, October 27th from 4 pm to 7 pm (Sabering demo at 5:30). 
Where: Bar Vivant/PIX, 2225 E. Burnside St. 
How Much: Free admission, special prices on glass pours and bottles. 

Dia de los Muertos at Mi Mero Mole

What: Nick Zukin's SE Division eatery will be celebrating the Day of the Dead with two days of food specials and traditional tributes. The restaurant will feature an ofrenda, or altar, filled with trickets, photos, and favorite foods of loved ones passed (the public is welcome to contribute to honor their own friends, families, or celebrities). Menu specials are set to include pan de muertos and skull and skeleton cookies.
When: November 1st and 2nd, 4 pm to close.
Where: Mi Mero Mole at 5026 SE Division St
How Much: Free, food prices vary.

11th Annual Portland Beaujolais Nouveau Fête

What: Every year, at midnight on the third Thursday of November, restaurants, wine bars, and bistros around the world open the first of 65 million bottles of fresh and fruity Beaujolais Nouveau—and Portland hosts one of America’s largest parties. This year, the Heathman Restaurant & Bar will host the 11th Annual Portland Beaujolais Nouveau Fête, a collaboration between the French-American Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance Française of Portland. The event will feature a wine and art auction, an abundant buffet, and plenty of stations pouring Beaujolais Nouveau flown in from France just days earlier.
When: Friday, November 16th at 6 pm.
Where: Heathman Restaurant & Bar 1001 Southwest Broadway
How Much: General admission tickets are $70 per person. A limited number of $50 tickets are available for young professionals (ages 21-35) who are first-time attendees, and a few VIP tables seating eight are available for $1,250. To reserve tickets, visit the Beaujolais Nouveau website.

Orange Wine Dinner at Genoa

What: Sommelier Michael Garofola of Genoa is leading the charge of the orange wine revolution in PDX with his upcoming wine dinner that's set to highlight five prime bottles along with Chef David Anderson’s modern take on Italian cuisine. Full details here.
When: Sunday, November 4th at 6:30 pm.

MasterChef Auditions in Portland

What: FOX's MasterChef will be holding an open casting call in Portland in November! The high-pressure cooking show, judged by chef Gordon Ramsay, restaurateur Joe Bastianich, and chef Graham Elliot, features amateur cooks in a variety of challenges. 
When: Saturday, November 10th from 10 am to 6 pm
Where: Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts 600 Southwest 10th Avenue #500
