Maybe you're handy in the kitchen and like to exercise your inner gourmand on Thanksgiving, or perhaps you're ordering in your entire Turkey Day meal. Either way, with all the top-quality bakers, ice cream purveyors, and sweet shillers around town, there's no shame in outsourcing the final course:

The Goods: The Alberta slice-slingin' bakery is featuring a full Thanksgiving Pie menu, with offerings like Tahitian-vanilla salted caramel apple pie, Old World Apple Farm apple pie, SDF-PDX salted pecan pie with Temperance Trader Bourbon, pumpkin pie, and New Deal coffee liqueur cream pie.
How To: Order by Saturday, November 17th by calling 971.340.6995 and schedule a pick up time between Tuesday evening and Thursday morning the week of Thanksgiving.

Milwaukie Kitchen and Wine 10610 SE Main St in Milwaukie
The Goods: Milwaukie Kitchen and Wine is teaming up with star pastry chef Kir Jensen of the Sugar Cube for a series of take-out Thanksgiving desserts. Think caramelized apple crostada, hazelnut Bourbon pecan pie, and chocolate coffee mallow pie.

Saint Cupcake 1138 SW Morrison and 3300 SE Belmont
The Goods:
The perfect Thanksgiving dessert combines baked goods and ice cream, so Saint Cupcake is offering Pies & Pints combos to order. Get 12 "Tiny Pies" and 1 pint of ice cream with flavors like Apple Crumble Pie with Chinese 5 Spice Caramel ice cream, Pecan Pie with Chai ice cream, Pumpkin Pie with Nutmeg ice cream.
How To: Pie & Pint combos can be ordered for any day this holiday season, with 48 hours notice. Call 503.997.3674. On Thanksgiving Day, Saint Cupcake will be open normal business hours.

Petunia’s Bakery
Got gluten-free and/or guests and need something sweet to finish the meal? Grab a gluten-free, vegan dessert from Petunia’s Pies & Pastries. Choose from pear frangipane tarts, salted caramel nut tarts with chocolate crust, pumpkin pecan pies, caramel apple pecan pies, pumpkin maple cakes with molasses cream cheese frosting, pumpkin cheesecakes with gingersnap crusts and more.

The Goods: Special holiday flavors include Bourbon Pecan Pie (Bourbon from Eastside Distillery turns into spicy bourbon ice cream with ribbons of pecan pie filling), Pumpkin Custard Swirled in Spiced Chevre, Orange and Thyme Thanksgiving Stuffing, Mincemeat Pie (with dried figs, cherries, currants, and apples that have been slowly steeped in brandy and fresh citrus), and Cranberry Walnut Crunch.
How to: Pints are available to go at both Salt & Straw locations. When ordering pints, you get to skip the scoop line! Traveling for the holidays? Order the entire series online and have it shipped for a taste of Portland wherever your travels take you.

Lauretta Jean's SW 6th and Pine and 3402 SE Division
The Goods: Kate McMillen's all-butter crusts and holiday fillings will turn dessert into something to be thankful for. The seasonal menu includes salted pecan with bourbon and fleur de sel, heirloom apple with vanilla and a dash of dark rum, pumpkin custard with a gingersnap-crumb bottom, spicy pear seasoned with cinnamon, cloves, star anise and vanilla, and chocolate cream.
How To: Pie cutoff for pre-orders was last Sunday, but the pie shops will have limited pies available for pickup on Wednesday and possibly Thursday. Go early for your best chance.
