The slice slingers at Pacific Pie Co. are teaming up with local distilleries for a month of boozy pies and free craft spirit tastings.

This just in: there's mounting evidence that it pays to open your pie shop on Distillery Row. Pacific Pie Co.'s Sarah and Chris Curtis-Fawley are calling in favors from their friendly booze-minded neighbors for a series of "Spirited Pie Month" specials and events.

Every week throughout the month of February, the SE 7th bakery and cafe will feature "spirited" sweets like Strawberry White Chocolate Pie with Strawberry Liqueur from Stone Barn BrandyWorks, Oatmeal Ginger Pear Pie with Ginger Liqueur from New Deal, and Black Bottom Pie with Coffee Rum from Eastside Distilling.

For more lovely local liquor action, stop by the bakery each Friday evening from 4:30 to 6:30 for free tastings featuring guest bartenders and distilleries from just down the road. You'll sure to sip or savor something warming to cure your mid-winter blues.

P.S. While you're tippling, check Pacific Pie Co.'s newly re-launched dinner menu, with specials like Moroccan-spiced lamb meatballs, bangers and mash, and chicken salad sandwiches topped with bacon jam.
