New late night menu at Accanto, Salt & Straw's SE opening, and more of this week's Portland restaurant and bar news.

Breakfast for dinner? Accanto's asparagus omelette does double duty on their brunch and late-night menus.


• Three's the magic number: On the heels of a mention in a recent New York Times article profiling the national trend of beer ice cream, local phenom Salt & Straw has opened a third location on Southeast Division. • Stay up late with breakfast for dinner: Starting in July, Belmont neighborhood eatery Accanto will launch a late-night happy hour (Sun-Thu: 9-10, Fri-Sat: 10-11 pm) featuring marked-down amari shots, a playful amari shot plus prosecco back dubbed 'Our Sommelier Does Not Approve'), wine from neighboring Genoa's cellar at steep discounts, and breakfast-for-dinner bites from chef Dulce Frommer (think asparagus omelettes and deviled eggs). 2838 SE Belmont St.

• Pub grub comes to the former Matchbox Lounge: Nate Tilden—the man behind Olympic Provisions and Clyde Common—and Victory Bar chef Eric Moore are set to open a new 50-seat, pub-menu-powered eatery dubbed The Richmond on SE Division by early fall. Full details on Eat Beat here3203 SE Division St

• So long for Manao...and Beaker & Flask: According to the Oregonian, former Pok Pok chef Ekkachai "Chew" Sakkayasukkalawong's Sellwood-Moreland Thai restaurant Manao will shutter as soon as this week. In other sad Southeast closures, landmark cocktail hub Beaker & Flask has "served its final drink" three weeks after announcing a temporary break and menu revamp.


• Tapas and Space Balls?: All summer long, E Burnside's Bar Vivant will host free movies at dusk every Wednesday (with a minimum $5 food or drink purchase, but there's free popcorn, too!). Bring a blanket and friends to watch French anime, indie films, and classic comedies. • Get your sweet fix, Part 1: Northeast 42nd's Old Salt Marketplace is now home to treat pro Anja Spence's bakery Miss Zumstein's Cakes and Desserts, dishing up delights like blueberry muffins, chocolate sandwich cookies, quiche with garlic scapes, layer cakes, cinnamon rolls, strawberry streusel bars, and bread pudding strata. 5027 NE 42nd Ave


• Get your sweet fix, Part 2: Jami Curl's Quin, a tiny new candy shop from the sweets-loving Saint Cupcake owner, opened July 1 in the still-under-construction Parisian-inspired Union Way corridor between SW Stark and W Burnside. • Future feasting: The folks behind Portland’s international food and drink festival Feast Portland have unveiled several new dinners, brunches, and a Cookbook Social. Get the full details and ticket information on Eat Beat here.

• June is over, but Dining Month lives on: Several Portland institutions will extend their three-course dining months specials through the summer. At Genoaa 3-course (antipasti, pasta, and entrée) menu option for $39 will be offered throughout the month of July, and RingSide Steakhouses & Fish House will plate up mix-and-match 3-course meals for $29 through Labor Day.


• Red, White, and Brew: The Oregon Brewers Guild announced that Oregon’s breweries crafted 1,296,000 barrels of beer (or roughly 321 million pints) during 2012, an 11 percent increase from the previous year. What's more, the state’s brewing companies added more than 900 jobs in 2012 and directly employed more than 6,400 people.
