Portland Monthly and Oaks Amusement Park team up for a summer afternoon of barbeque, music, and carnival rides to benefit Willamette Riverkeeper.

By Tuck Woodstock August 20, 2013

This Saturday, August 24 from 4 to 8 pm, join Portland Monthly at a late-summer sunset barbecue for a terrific local cause.

The first annual Portland Monthly Endless Summer BBQ will offer an afternoon of fun for the whole family at Oaks Amusement Park. All profits will benefit Willamette Riverkeeper, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of the Willamette River.

Six top Portland chefs will be serving up their best BBQ, including the hot hands from Alberta Street Pub, Biwa, Country Cat, Lardo, Pine Shed Ribs, and Urban Farmer. Nearby, local bakers from Whiffies Fried Pies, Pacific Pie Co, and more will celebrate the sweeter side of summer with an all-American cobbler contest.

Guests are also invited to dance to summertime jams, purchase wristbands for unlimited rides and carnival games, and enjoy leisurely rounds of horseshoes, bocce, and badminton on the field overlooking the mighty Willamette.

What are you waiting for? Buy a BBQ ticket for $20 to enjoy barbecue bites, cobbler samples, lawn games, and live music, or upgrade to a $33 Deluxe Bracelet for entry to the barbecue and unlimited access to the Oaks Amusement Parks midway rides. Tickets and event details are available here. We'll see you there!
