Party Pics from Portland Monthly's Endless Summer BBQ

We fired up the grills and brought out the bocce balls for a summertime send-off to remember. Here's what you missed...

This past weekend at the historical Oaks Park along the banks of the Willamette, clouds parted and the summer rain miraculously stopped—just in time for a quintessential late-season bash, Portland Monthly's first annual Endless Summer BBQ.

The all-American fundraiser for Willamette Riverkeeper featured barbecue from Country Cat, Lardo, Urban Farmer, Biwa, Pine Shed Ribs, and Alberta Street Pub, as well as seasonal cobbler from Pacific Pie Company, Three Degrees, Laughing Planet, Whiffies Fried Pies, and Liberated Baking.

Partygoers tossed horseshoes, rolled bocce balls, and took to the badminton court between filling their plates with delights like lamb Sloppy Joes, beef sliders, grilled steelhead, pulled pork, and even peach cobbler–flavored shave ice from SoCold. They sipped on Leinekugels Summer Shandys and Enso's rosé as they watched the sun set over the Porland's glittering skyline across the river.

As for the heated Cobbler Competition, Pacific Pie Company took the crown by just a few votes with their irresistible marionberry cobbler with honey hazelnut biscuits.

Thank you to all who contributed to the Endless Summer fun, and we'll see you again next year! Miss out on the action? Check out our slide show by clicking the photo above.
