The rooftop deck at New Seasons: Woodstock

On Wednesday, October 21, New Seasons, Portland's homegrown grocery chain, will launch its 18th location at 4500 SE Woodstock Blvd in the Woodstock neighborhood.

The new, 18,000-square-foot grocery has a few special bonus features. Most important: a 100 seat, rooftop “Treehouse Bar and Lounge,” with ample seating, a kid’s play area, fire pits, cider and beer on tap, and a growler-filling station. The Treehouse is designed with a glass tile art installation created by local artist Ivan McClean in collaboration with the Children’s Healing Art Project.

In addition to the Indian summer-ready roof deck, New Seasons is carrying some exclusive products, like Pitch Dark Chocolate, New York-style Bowery Bagels, and salad dressing made from that special Dulse “bacon-flavored” seaweed, grown at the OSU Maritime Center.

The website also promises a wok bar, ramen bar, and a bar-bar (with beer and wine).

New Seasons is celebrating the opening at 10 am on Wednesday, October 21 with a traditional “bread-breaking” ceremony, including a pumpkin giveaway and cheese and cider pairings.
