Olympia Provisions Cookbook Dinner
To celebrate their newly minted cookbook, Olympia Provisions is throwing a dinner party featuring their lost recipes: an entire chapter of the book that didn’t make the cut, starring dishes from co-founder Elias Cairo’s formative years in Switzerland. Expect smoked trout crostini, huge crocks of weiswurst, and custardy pear tart.

This is the last weekend to dive into Our Table Cooperative’s organic pumpkin patch. In addition to u-pick pumpkins and hard cider tastings, Our Table is planning a cookie decorating and a costume parade to celebrate Halloween and the end of the fall harvest season.

Tapalaya’s Voodoo Doll Dinner
The Vietnamese-inspired New Orleans eatery is celebrating Dia de los Muertos by hosting a voodoo doll-making station in the middle of dinner service. Between bites of gumbo and pork belly banh mi, diners can stuff their own dolls, stick them with pins (or not), and bring them home, or add them to the official “Voodoo Wall.”

Third Annual Boone’s Ferry Autumn Ale Fest
Sip 17 different autumn ales brewed by McMenamins and eight other local breweries around town. The festivities include brewery tours, live music, and an educational talk given by the director of the Oregon Hops and Brewing Archives—yes, there is a hops and brewing archive in Oregon.
