Nibble a breakfast sandwich at Vivienne Kitchen & Pantry
Delicate mugs of Extracto coffee and eggy, pickled pepper-topped breakfast sandwiches oozing with brie are the morning draw at this pretty, new, plant-strewn bower next to the Hollywood Theatre.

Cross state lines for a really good fish taco at Woody’s Tacos
We don’t often send readers out to the ‘Couv for dining recommendations, but Woody’s Tacos, a Baja-style Mexican joint in downtown Vancouver, demands your attention. Go for the fish taco: deep-fried rockfish with a crunchy, browned shell, fresh, bright salsa, and lime crema nestled inside a house-made tortilla.

Cut into Nostrana’s discounted pies
In-the-know pizza-lovers are already hip to Nostrana’s $7 happy hour pizza margherita. But starting May 30, the Italian mainstay will sell half-price pies everyday from 5–6 p.m. at the bar and pizza counter. That includes all pies, even its salumi variety, with finocchiona, honey, and Mama Lil’s, for $8.

Pop open seafood conservas at Bar Vivant
Pix Patisserie’s champagne-loving bar has gone conserva-crazy, offering house-made versions of Spain’s famous, traditional canned seafood in every shape and form. Try anything from cockles and razor clams to tuna belly and trout, packed in oil and served alongside Andalusian-style potatoes.
