Blue Star Is Moving (and Handing Out Free Doughnuts!)

Blue Star Donuts is relocating its downtown headquarters. But before you have a complete meltdown, rest assured you will still be able to get your Blueberry Bourbon Basil fix within walking distance.
On Monday, August 27, Blue Star will unveil its new “World Headquarters,” located in a West End building on the corner of Southwest 12th and Morrison (only three blocks from the original at 13th and Washington.) The roughly 5,000-square-foot ground floor space will have an open-air commissary kitchen and retail area, plus an “interactive chef’s corner” where doughnut lovers can froth at the mouth while watching head pastry chef Stephanie Thornton concoct new flavors. Will she let you lick the spoon? It’s worth a try. The super-sized doughnut emporium will carry all of the time-tested brioche and buttermilk favorites, Portland-exclusive creations, and Coava Coffee’s “Blue Star Blend” drip coffee and nitro cold brew.
While not officially open for regular business hours until Tuesday, August 28, Blue Star’s new location is hosting a free doughnut extravaganza on Monday, August 27 at 10 a.m. for passersby. My advice? Get there at 9.
