YAS has arrived in Portland: YAS, the Los Angeles-born hybrid of yoga and spinning, will celebrate the opening of the company's Pearl District studio—YAS's first location outside of California—on April 18. Founded by Kimberly Fowler in 2001 as an outlet for yoga without "chanting, granola, or sanskrit," the fitness center offers indoor cycling classes, "Yoga for Athletes," and combo classes that combine cardio, strength, and stretching for a full-body workout. Stop by for the grand opening and score special package rates, celebratory rides, and swag galore. 516 SW 14th

StarCycle's New Beaverton Location: Former Barre3 and yoga pros Erin Moone and Dionne Del Carlo opened Lake Oswego's StarCycle in 2013, looking to craft 45-minute, full-body classes with a focus on choreography, cardio, and hand-weight strength training for a well-rounded approach to spinning (with a side of rock-and-roll style). The studio has a dedicated group of followers in the 'burbs, and has opened a new outlet a little closer to city center in the new Timberland Town Center off of Northwest Barnes Road (also home to the latest Barre3 studio, Market of Choice, and Pharmaca). “It’s never been a better time to be a female entrepreneur,” says Del Carlo. “Being able to wake up every day and bring this unique fitness experience to life and inspire so many different people of all shapes and abilities is truly a blessing." Packages start at $36 and include a new client introductory special of $99 for one month of unlimited rides. Childcare is available at $5 per class or a package of 10 for $45. 11835 NW Cedar Falls Drive, Suite 125

BurnCycle's New Lake Oswego Location: The good folks behind Pearl District cycling studio BurnCycle will unleash their second location in Lake Oswego on May 9, with a week of free classes from May 4-8 to celebration. The new studio will feature plenty of parking, expanded locker rooms, and more showers than the flagship location. Get ready to burn! 1811 Meadows Road, Suite 109, in Lake Oswego

Reform Pilates Adds Barre and Belly Dancing: After making a name for itself in the Pilates and gyrotonic spheres, the SE Belmont studio has expanded and added barre and belly dancing classes.
