The Two Leading All-You-Can-Sweat Fitness Passports Have Joined Forces

This summer, the nationwide battle between unlimited workout apps FitMob and ClassPass has come to an end with a gym-goer's dream merger.

Earlier this year, unlimited monthly fitness subscription service ClassPass acquired its direct competitor FitMob—and the merger is now complete with a new super-list of workouts offered by the all-you-can-sweat gym and fitness studio passport:

Both ClassPass and FitMob launched in Portland at the end of 2014, battling it out to win the hearts and cash of the city's dedicated yogis, kettlebell swingers, barre enthusiasts, and cardio cravers. Instead of paying for that unlimited class card at one local fitness studio, members of either service received access to dozens of Crossfit gyms, boot camps, and fitness hot spots for the cost of membership at a single spot.

The services were near mirrors of each other—each offering unlimited workouts around the city for $69-$79/month—and many Portland studios offered class spots to members of both, but ClassPass won out in the ring, working up enough sweat—and profits—to purchase FitMob for an undisclosed amount in April. In the following months, members of FitMob automatically became ClassPass users, gaining access to ClassPass studios in 34 cities around the country.
