Newsflash! Free Zoo Doo is back!

The Oregon Zoo is once again offering Zoo Doo to the public. Zoo Doo is produced from herbivore manure and bedding (much of it courtesy of the Zoo’s "prolific pachyderms," as their marketing department terms them!) which has been allowed to compost for a couple of months. It’s a brilliant program, turning 100 percent of herbivore manure into useable garden compost at the Zoo’s on-site facility. Of course, it makes excellent garden fertilizer and soil amendment. Best of all, it’s free!

So get ahold truck and pick up Zoo Doo at the Oregon Zoo. The pick-up site is open Mondays through Fridays (except holidays) from 10 am to 2 pm. Note: you must place an order ahead of time by calling no later than 5 am on the day of pickup. Call 503-226-1561 ext. 5133 and leaving a message with your name, the date and time you will arrive to pick up Zoo Doo, the approximate amount of Zoo Doo you would like, and whether you are hand-loading the Zoo Doo or require tractor assistance.

To get to the Zoo Doo facility, take U.S. Hwy. 26 to the zoo exit, head up the hill a couple hundred feet and turn right into Gate A. Once through the gate, take an immediate right into the gravel parking lot and head straight to our Zoo Doo facility. Someone will meet you there.
