Watch This Hang-Glider Try to Catch Sweet, Sweet Air in Clinton Park

The "majesty of flight" indeed.

This week, YouTube user PortlandPhil uploaded the above video, titled "The Majesty of Flight." The clip shows a hang-glider gearing up to take off from the smallest of hills in Southeast Portland's Clinton Park.

It goes about as well as you think it would.

According to the video's description, the man attempted the stunt one more time before admitting defeat and packing it in: "In the mans [sic] defense there was a strong wind coming up the slope and quite a lot of lift, but for whatever reason it didn't work out for him. He was mostly ok, a small cut on the back of his head, and he was a little shaken up, but he turned down any assistance and he actually made another attempt as I was leaving. From what I could tell it went about the same. After the second crash he decided to call it a night."

Dream on, Hang-Glider Man. Dream on.
