Days of "will it or won't it?" have finally led to this: the much-anticipated snowpocalypse, about six inches of snow, plus a winter storm warning and more snow expected Friday night. Some have predicted the Northwest would see a year's worth of snow this weekend. The novelty of the winter weather had many rejoicing, sledding, and playing around in the snow—even the critters and creatures over at the Oregon Zoo had a swell time

We sent ourselves out into the wilds and aimed to document the journey. We didn't get very far in the cold, but here's a snapshot of the world (well, neighborhoods) outside our doors.

(The snow, fun as it is from inside with a cup of tea and a crackling fire, poses imminent danger to our unhoused community. If you have the time/money/skills, consider donating them.)
