Producer
Rebecca Jacobson

Digital editor Rebecca Jacobson oversees Portland Monthly's website and helms the magazine's social media platforms. She also contributes print stories—about the arts, cannabis, mermaids, and more—and edits the occasional feature package.
Before joining the magazine in January 2016, she spent time in Berlin reviewing 24-hour theater productions, chasing after mayhem-battling mimes, and tracking down her distant Jewish ancestors. She worked for several years as Stage & Screen Editor at Willamette Week, where she also covered heroin kingpins-turned-barbers and little-known scraps of local history. Her WW cover story about a ghost-obsessed YouTube star was named best arts feature at the 2015 AltWeekly Awards.
Raised in Portland, Rebecca studied history at Brown University before ditching New England for a year of independent research in Malawi. These days, she can be found on her bike, in the woods, or eating (and often making) baked goods.
