Festive Cava Cocktails for the Holidays

It’s that time of year again when your calendar fills up unusually fast with holiday party invites. Whether you’re hosting a full-blown meal or just swinging by a dozen cocktail parties; it helps to have a speciality cocktail in your back pocket that is sure to please a crowd. Sparkling wine has always been a sign of celebration so it’s only fitting to make it into a festive Cava cocktail to toast to friends new and old. So grab your favorite bottle of Segura Viudas and mix up one of our favorite holiday drinks below…your guests will thank you. 

Poinsettias Cocktail:

The official flower of the holiday season just got its own cocktail…and it’s delicious.

1/2 oz orange liqueur
3 oz cranberry juice
4-5 oz Segura Viudas Cava
Chilled Orange Wedge
Lime Wedge 

In a wine flute, squeeze orange wedge; mix liquor and cranberry juice. Add sparkling wine and stir gently. Garnish with a lime wedge. Makes one drink.

Lemon Cava Cocktail:

The power team of lemon and Cava lightens up all of the holiday’s hearty dishes. 

1 bottle chilled Segura Viudas Cava 

For lemon syrup:

2 large freshly squeezed lemons
2 tablespoons melted honey

Stir lemon juice and melted honey until combined, let cool. Divide lemon syrup between 4 glasses, top with Cava and garnish with a lemon zest peel. 

Berry Merry Rosé Sangria:

Rosé and Sangria? This party punch is the perfect crowd pleaser.

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup crème de cassis
1 1/2 cups assorted berries such
1 bottle chilled Segura Viudas rosé
Fresh lemon juice, to taste

Make your crème de cassis simple syrup first: Bring sugar, water, and crème de cassis to a simmer in a small saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour berries into a heatproof pitcher and top with simmering syrup. Let stand 5 minutes. Add rosé and lemon juice; stir well. Chill, covered, and serve over ice when your guests arrive.
