The World of Leonardo da Vinci: Now open at OMSI!

Considered one of history’s greatest minds and talents, Leonardo da Vinci was an artist, architect, and engineer whose paintings are among the most widely popular and influential of the Renaissance and whose notebooks reveal a pursuit of scientific inquiry and mechanical inventiveness that were centuries ahead of their time.

Now, for the first time ever in the Pacific Northwest, two original Leonardo da Vinci folios from the 500-year-old Codex Atlanticus along with over three dozen reconstructions of da Vinci’s extraordinary machines are brought together
for The World of Leonardo da Vinci at OMSI.

Explore da Vinci’s engineering marvels and artistic masterpieces, featuring:

• Rare, Original Drawings
• Get up close to two original folios drawn 500+ years ago
• Artistry and History
• A magnificent display of The Last Supper that illustrates how the mural looks today versus when it was completed in 1498 (Plus digital re-creations of The Mona Lisa and Vitruvian Man)

• Hands-on, interactive stations where guests can test their building and architecture skills

After experiencing the exhibit, you're invited to The Inventor’s Workshop, an OMSI-designed gallery and play-centered space dedicated to hands-on experimentation, exploring simple machines, drawing self-portraits, and testing one of da Vinci’s famous experiments—the parachute!
