Fade to Light Fashion Show

Returning for a second year, the Fade to Light Fashion Show features some of Portland's most promising independent designers in one stunning display.

February used to be considers a snooze fest on the local fashion scene with the post-holiday blues hanging steadfast and the idea of spring shopping feeling a distant future away. Now, thanks to trunk shows galore and events like the Novel Romance fashion show and Fade to Light, February has quickly become one of the most fashion packed months of the year.

Back for a second year after its impressive debut, the multi-dimensional event that encourages designers to integrate the use of film and music into their runway shows, promises a night of great talent with some of the city’s favorite indie darlings. The February 27 show at McMenamin’s includes new collections from Bryce Black, Ms. Wood, Studio SKB, Clair Vintage Inspired, Chicago Harper, Emit, Wandering Muse, and Gregarious T. Cline for PINO featuring clothing from Hollywood Vintage. Most of these designers haven’t made a peep out in the scene for months, making us even more excited about what they’ve been hunkered down working on.

A lineup that includes looks for men, women, the edgy and the function seekers means the limited runway seating will go fast leaving standing only tickets. If you like to sit, we’d advise grabbing a ticket while you can.
