Open Season Announces Four Nights of Indie Fashion Shows

Back for its eleventh year, beloved fashion show Open Season gives four worthy local designers each a night to show off.

As we learned from This is Spinal Tap: to make something better, turn it up to 11. Such is the case with Portland’s longest running indie fashion show Open Season that marches into its second decade in June, with four nights of local fashion designers putting their finest on display.

It’s no secret that this is one of the most beloved shows in the fashion community and over the years has hosted now familiar names like Leanne Marshall, Ms. Wood, and Gretchen Jones—as well as introducing us to lines like Alexa Stark and Crazy Wind. Continuing with the three-year-old multi-night/multi-venue format, the style whirlwind runs Monday, June 15 through Thursday the 18 with happy hour timed fashion shows (and happy hour priced tickets at just $6 a pop).

This time around, producer Marjorie Skinner has each night devoted to a single designer—with Monday opening with the Altar houseline, a beautifully feminine fusion of designers Cassie Ridgeway and Rachel Rasmussen’s love of metal, goth, and pretty things. Tuesday goes to Brady Lange who embraces the fun and novelty of the 1990s (color, crop tops, cat prints) while also impeccably tailoring pieces for men and women. Wednesday speaks to chic minimalism with Lindsey Reif’s sleek looks in quality materials before Thursday wraps up with one of Portland’s longest running designers, the ever-meticulous Adam Arnold.

It’s guaranteed to be a good time, made even more fun by the party-hopping, people-watching vibe. The best option is to snag an all-week pass for a mere $20 and hit every night.
