Now in the sixth year of her signature local fashion and multimedia celebration, Fade to Light producer Elizabeth Mollo is mixing things up. This time around, the show will be split into back-to-back nights. On August 21 and 22, crowds will gather around the makeshift runway at the Crystal Ballroom to watch local designers offer up their newest collections.

The first evening includes looks from ready-to-wear womenswear designers Carolyn Hart and Sharon Blair alongside student collections from Blair’s school, the Portland Fashion Institute. On night two, familiar names are on deck to impress, including One Imaginary Girl, Sara Bergman, and Sarah Bibb for Folly, known for their colorful and expressive collections.
Then, there's the bonus third night, devoted to the last-ever fashion show from the Art Institute of Portland, which is sadly scheduled to close its doors over the next few months. Titled “Statements: A Fashion Experience,” it will be the 20th annual show from the graduating class of budding designers. (“Our final word will be heard,” says graduating senior and student designer Kevin Phillips.) Though technically not part of Fade to Light, the student show will be also produced by Mollo and take over the same runway on August 23.
