Now is the time of year we ache for sunshine. Since the current forecast calls for cold rain for the next two weeks straight, it’s the time of year we book trips to Palm Springs, Mexico, and Hawaii as fast as our budgets will allow. Prepare for that Vitamin D filled jaunt, or at least daydream about one, this weekend with a swimwear filled fashion show.
On Saturday, Jan 25 at Popina’s 3,000 square foot boutique in Hollywood—the largest women’s swimwear store on the West Coast—the event will also feature looks from two other local shops, Mercantile and Shop Adorn. In a fun twist the models for the show are Portland’s only synchronized swimming performance troupe, the Rose City Raindrops. This group performs their water dances at private parties, so runway modeling seems easy by comparison.
The fashion show is free with fun event perks—mini hair makeovers, signature drinks, nostril waxing—plus a fancy raffle package benefiting the Human Access Project whose mission is to get us into a healthy Willamette River.
