It’s an age-old question: If a trees falls in a BLM forest and no one is around to tweet about it, does it make a sound?
Beginning this week, we’ll know for sure: Yesterday, the Bureau of Land Management offices in Oregon and Washington announced that they had pulled themselves out of B.F.E. (Before Facebook Era) by diving headfirst into the world of twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and, of course Facebook. (Where’s my "like" button on this blog, anyway?)
“For an agency whose roots extend all the way back to the early 1800s, Social Media is a new adventure for us,” noted Oregon/Washington State Director Ed Shepard in a press release announcing the move.
No worries there, Ed. Anyone that’s ever been lost on a BLM back road can certainly relate to undertaking a new adventure.
