White Out
Because I sometimes zip myself into neoprene and paddle out into the ocean in search of waves, I try hard not to think about what might be swimming around underneath me. A task made infinitely more difficult this time of year because of Shark Week. (Thanks a lot, Discovery Channel.)
But just when I thought it might be safe to go back in the water, I stumbled across this video today in which a San Diego paddle boarder endeavors to get a good look at a pair of toothy Great White Sharks that had been sniffing around his local break.
I don’t know what’s creepier, the sight of the ghostly sharks amid the murky water, or the eerie silence accompanying their presence. But as my colleague over on the Culturephile blog might say, "‘Phile this post under *What Would Bear Grylls Do?!"*
