Two Ugly Sweater Day Hotel Deals

Pull-out your most hideous wool garment, because today (Dec. 20) is National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! (If you've just awoken from a coma or are somehow not aware of this, yes, it's a thing.)
Local artists are getting into the season by yarn bombing some of Portland’s iconic structures scattered throughout downtown. Over a dozen statues have been "bombed" so far. Downtown, check out “Allow Me” (man with an umbrella), “Animals in Pools” (ducks and beavers) and “Kvinneakt” (the naked woman) which have been adorned with festive sweaters.
Portland hotels are also jumping on board this national holiday:
- The Mark Spencer: Any guest wearing an ugly sweater at check in will automatically receive a free room upgrade.
- The Heathman Hotel: Pets get their very own ugly holiday sweater. (The hotel’s bronze statue of celebrity bulldog Zelda will also be sporting a hand-knit ugly sweater.)
