Feb 14 Valentine’s Day is this Friday! If this oh-so-complicated holiday managed to slip off your radar, book a four-course dinner on the Portland Spirit and make it seem like you'd planned it all along. Details: (Scroll down under "Deals" for more inspired ideas...)

Feb 14–16 For a celebration of all things winter (think rail jams, snow and ice sculpting competitions, live music, and plenty of food) Bend’s Oregon WinterFest has you covered. Details:

Feb 15 Head to Astoria’s Fort George Brewery to partake in the Festival of Dark Arts, replete with glass blowing, a blacksmith forge, belly- and fire-dancing, tarot card reading, and a Dark Art Gallery (whatever that means). Oh, and stout. Lots of stout. Details:

Feb 15 Zwickelmania! The annual event includes about 100 breweries across the state conducting meetings, tastings, and tours from 11am to 4pm. In the Portland area, check out Widmer Brothers, Occidental, Laurelwood, and McMenamins Kennedy School, among many others. Details:

Feb 28 & Mar 1 The 6th Annual Wurstfest in Mt. Angel (just 45 minutes from Portland) celebrates everything you love about German sausage—and gives you a great reason to don your lederhosen for the day. Details:

Feb 7–23 The Sochi Olympics might be too far away for most of us to watch in person, but that doesn’t mean we can’t imagine the adventure from our cozy living rooms. Follow our homegrown competitors, including Laurenne Ross, Kent Callister, and Jacqueline Wiles. Details:

Feb–April It’s treasure-hunting season at Gold Beach! What exactly does that mean? Well, glass floats are hidden around the Oregon beach, and if you find one, it’s yours. (If the weather continues to be frightful, local shops have hidden floats for you, too.) Details:
