Stout Month is Back!

For those hankering for the dark hue of a hefty stout, your time has arrived! FeBREWary, the shortest month of the year, marks Fort George Brewery’s Stout Month, a solid 28 days of stout appreciation. The brewery will be tapping a new stout each week, spotlighting such intriguing concoctions as the Long Dark Winter Milk Stout, the Squashed Stout, and the Cherry Chocolate Stout. And if you’re up for a flavorful surprise, a “blind” stout taster tray will offer eight exotic samples.
Beyond the monthlong celebration, Valentine’s Day will bring with it the Festival of Dark Arts from noon to 10pm. Fort George's entire block will overflow with demonstrations by glass blowers, ice sculptors and blacksmiths, belly and fire dancers, tarot card readers, and tintype photographers for your brewed-out entertainment pleasure. More than 50 stouts will be yours for the sipping, including delicious treats from Crux, Evil Twin, Great Divide, Laurelwood, Pfriem, and more. Event details are listed below.
What's more, because we all know beer and food are a match made in heaven, the brewery will also host the Fort George Stout & Oysters Brewer’s Dinner. Held once a month in the the upstairs restaurant space and making use of the wood-fired oven, February’s installment of this five-course feast will be an ode to rich stouts and fresh, local oysters. Seats are one for $65 or $60 apiece for parties of two or more—and spots will go fast! Reserve your spot online, or call the pub directly at 503-325-PINT.
