Which airline has the best snacks? That's the question Portland Monthly set out to answer because, well, why not?

To do so, our staff members brought back nuts, pretzels, crackers, and snacks from personal trips on various airlines. Then we held a blind tasting. Editors were asked to rate the snacks on a scale from 1 to 10—with 1 being awful and 10 being the best thing they've ever tasted. (No surprise here: not a single snack cracked a score of 6.)

One thing we learned: salt, and lots of it, is the key to a winning snack.
