Sweet coniferous Christmas, it's already time to get the tree up! Luckily for Oregonians, perfectly pruned and shaped holiday Noble firs (and Nordmanns, and Dougs, and Grands) literally grow all around us. As the nation's leading producer of Christmas trees, it's true that around 90 percent of our conifers are destined for sale outside the state. But don't worry—plenty stay here at home, and they're often considerably cheaper here than those that end up in, say, Arizona. Celebrate by making an event of it: rather than heading to a grocery store lot for a pre-cut tree, channel your inner lumberjack at these nine nearby U-cut farms.
