Slide Show: Behind the Scenes of Our Spring Fashion Shoot

Hair and make up artist Kelly Peach preps Option model Flora Watling for the camera.

Stylist Eden Dawn pulled lust-worthy boots from local shop Solestruck.

The floral concept for the shoot meant some serious flower wrangling.

We brought in botanical expert Alea Joy from Solabee (left) to help us bring the Garden of Eden theme to life.

Photographer Brandon Witzel prefers to work with natural lighting so we raced the sun all day to produce a spring spread on winter time.

Being a style editor isn't always a glamorous job, Eden Dawn gets on the ground to perfect every detail.

Joy and Dawn prop styling vines into an organically organized shape.

Fashions included looks from Mario's, Portland Garment Factory, Nordstrom, Reif, and Vintalier among others.

Tweaking every last detail to get the opening shot.

We suspended air plants from a structure (usually used for Burning Man).

Everyone pitches in on set to make the magic happen. See Executive Editor Rachel Ritchie crouched in the background holding the branches just so.

Photographer Brandon Witzel directs Flora amongst the, well, flora.

For our fern gully shot we washed and hand dried each leaf before laying them out in a radiating pattern.

Since Flora is from Holland, we felt the tulip was most appropriate.

For our spring fashion editorial, the Portland Monthly crew teamed up with floral experts from Solabee and photographer Brandon Witzel for dreamy, pastel pictures. Here, we offer a glimpse of the process.
