TICKET GIVEAWAY

Win Tickets to Artists Rep’s ‘Ten Chimneys’

We talk with ART’s new artistic director, Damaso Rodriguez, about his directing debut—and give you tickets to see it (if you’re lucky). Apr 23–May 25

By Aaron Scott April 18, 2013

Carol Channing once said of the legendary Wisconsin estate of Broadway power-couple Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne: “What the Vatican is to Catholics, Ten Chimneys is to actors.” Artists Rep’s production of Jeffrey Hatcher’s comedy follows a rehearsal of The Seagullon the estate, during which life begins to mirror Chekhovian dysfunction. This play about power players will fittingly be our first chance to see Artists Rep’s new artistic director, Dámaso Rodriguez, at work.

Rodriguez has a big stage to fill. The award-winning Los Angeles director is taking the reins of the city’s longest-running theater company from its beloved artistic director of 25 years, Allen Nause (who unveiled at the season announcement that he will be joining the theatre’s acting company).

Read our interview with Rodriguez about Ten Chimneys and his plans for Artists Rep’s future.
