Another win for team gluten-free! When NE Portland’s Bakery Bar relaunched last December with a new name, dinner service, and expanded morning menu, we sensed that more changes were soon to come. The long list of scrambles, salads, pastries, pizza, meat dishes, and more sounded ambitious, but could Kerns Kitchen have more tricks up its sleeves? As it turns out, yes—the newly re-christened restaurant recently announced that many of their most celebrated dishes are now available sans gluten.

Craving a baked good or breakfast sandwich? Kerns Kitchen will serve any breakfast sandwich on house baked gluten-free rustic bakery rolls. Too late for brunch? Burgers on the lunch and dinner menu are available with gluten-free buns. Pining for pizza from that blazing brick oven? Chef Nick Medici has developed a gluten-free crust using brown rice, corn, and milt flour. Stop in soon to try the goods for yourself.
