After five years offering their signature sausages and sandwiches at area farmers markets, hosting supper club feasts, and popping up to cater foodie events from beer fests to gift bazaars, Ethan and Ashley Bisagna have settled into their hard-earned new homea charming deli and counter-service cafe in a former Subway at 1325 SE Tacoma St right off of Sellwood's main drag.

The power couple earned their culinary cred and honed their butchers knives at Washington’s famed The Herbfarm and Portland institutions like Clyde CommonPark Kitchen, Phil's Uptown Meat Market, and Laurelhurst Market. At their new delicatessen, the duo are busy filling their deli case with housemade charcuterie—including Basque-style chistorra sausages, knackwurst, pecorino and parsley sausage pinwheels, and smoked pork rillettes—and crafting seasonal salads, small plates, sandwiches, and sharable platters loaded with meats and grilled veggies.

Pro Tip #1: Though the meat is the main draw, a pleasant surprise awaits any guest with a sweet tooth: the aroma of hot baked goods popping out of the oven throughout the day, from flaky, caramelized cherry nectarine hand pies to ambrosial dark chocolate brownies.

Pro Tip #2: Gluten-free? Even though the hot menu is sandwich heaven, all of the bread-cradled creations can be served as salads. Slow-roasted fennel-rubbed pork with salsa verde on a bed of arugula? You got it.

Pro Tip #3: Throw the pooches in the back of the car, leave the a/c on while you grab a whole picnic basket worth of plates from the deli, and head a few blocks down Tacoma to the Sellwood Riverfront Park (located right on the river at SE Spokane St and Oaks Pkwy). Your pups can run off leash and splash in the Willamette while picnic tables and benches provide the stage for your feast as the sun dips behind the west hills. If that's not a perfect Portland summer evening, I don't know what is.
