Madrid Chocolatería Pop Up at the Meadow
What: Mark Bitterman, of salt, chocolate, and bitters renown, brings a distinctly personal and American twist to the storied chocolate drinking establishments of Europe in his newly opened pop-up, located at the back of The Meadow’s Northwest Portland location. Patrons are invited to add drops of aromatic cocktail bitters to their cup. Lemon, cardamom, Abbott’s, and rye whisky are this month’s bitters options.

La Fête du Macaron at Bar Vivant
What: Pix Patisserie’s Cheryl Wakerhauser will be offering 30 different flavors of macarons including fleur de sel, kalamansi lime, tawny Port, coconut curry, sherry almond, and more. Wakerhauser will also be launching her newest creation: the macronut, a deep fried macaron.

Third annual Aquavit week celebrates the signature Scandinavian spirit all over Portland with founder Jacob Grier. Kick things off at the Aquavit Opening Party (December 1, 6pm at the Hop and Vine), experience modernist pairings from Racion chef Anthony Cafiero (December 4 at Racion, 7pm. $100 per person. Raven & Rose Brewer’s Dinner Series
What: A beer-centric twist on R & R’s traditional English-style Sunday Roast. Dishes like beef tri-tip and Oregon King Salmon will be paired with Goose Island barrel aged beers a limited-release Bourbon County Stout, Bourbon County Barleywine, and the Class of ’88, which is brewed with whole flower Mt. Hood hops.

Troy MacLarty and Cal Peternell at Jacobsen Salt Co.
What: Bollywood Theater chef and owner Troy MacLarty is partnering with his former mentor Cal Peternell from Chez Panisse as part of Jacobsen Salt’s Salt Fire Water series. The first night of the two-part dinner series will focus on MacLarty’s brand of Indian cuisine, while the second night is devoted to their local, seasonal, Italian food.
