The New York Times called it—online ordering companies are back like it's 1999. Remember the rush of getting a box of Klondike bars delivered to your door from Webvan or Kozmo before the dot com bubble burst? All of this has happened before and will happen again: Instacart, the one-hour grocery delivery service based in San Fransisco, launched Portland operations at the end of August, partnering with Uwajimaya, Whole Foods, and Costco to end the era of shopping trips. Today, the national company announced it's first local partner in PDX-area deliveries: Green Zebra Grocery.

“Partnering with Instacart gives us the opportunity to offer more eaters convenient access to our neighborhood market,” said Lisa Sedlar, founder and CEO of Green Zebra Grocery. “We’re excited to be able to provide our regular customers as well as those who can’t easily make it to the store with a delivery option.”

Yes, you can now get local products like Fishpeople salmon and pasta packs, Cascada Creamery's Sleeping Beauty Raw Cheese, Stumptown coffee, local organic produce, Wild Friends peanut butters, and even fresh sandwiches and salads from Green Zebra's deli—from roast beef with caramelized onion and ham and apple butter sandwiches to Mediterranean tuna salad or brussels with sea salt.
