Good Food Mercentile

Nobody needs to tell us that we are a city (and state) of incredible food craftspeople. But it doesn’t hurt that every year, Portland and Oregon rake in accolades at the Good Food Awards, a competition that gathers a talented panel of tastemakers to blind judge some 2,000 entries from around the country. The winners are whittled down to just three entrees per category for each region (North, South, West, and Central). This year, winners were announced on January 17  in San Francisco at the Good Food Awards Ceremony.

Oregon took home 21 awards, the most in our “Northern” region, which includes Washington and stretches east to South Dakota. Olympia Provisions, which has won awards every year since Good Food started its competition a decade ago, has a staggering 17 wins, making it the second most decorated artisan food company after Missouri’s Patric Chocolate.
