Crafting Your Winter Herbal Pharmacy
What: Join herbalist Kelsey Lynn Riley as she shares simple herbal remedies for winter wellness. Attendees will learn how to boost their immune systems with tasty daily supplements, and to create special syrups for sore throats, chest balms for coughs, and tinctures for fighting flus and colds.

Meatless Chili Cook Off
What: Embrace the seasonal shift by celebrating a classic cold-weather dish: chili! Eight co-op community members will serve up their prized vegetarian chili recipes for your sampling pleasure. Feel free to vote for your favorite—but if you’re suffering from post-election exhaustion, we won’t blame you.

Trans Health Resource Fair
What: Swing by this all-day drop-in event to attend workshops and community discussions, meet trans-affirming doctors and counselors, consult with medical and alternative health providers, learn about insurance options, and even enroll in the Oregon Health Plan. (Or, if that sounds daunting, focus on eating snacks and making new pals.)

Yoga, Mood, & Holiday Food
What: Shake off all that holiday stress with emotional tools and wellness techniques taught by certified holistic health coach and yoga teacher Rebecca Van Damm. The interactive class will include yoga postures, breathing techniques, nutrition tips, group discussion, and personal writing and reflection.

 Compassionate Thanksgiving 
What: Whip out your best plant-based recipes for this epic potluck hosted by Northwest Veg. This 13th annual Thanksgiving potluck is predicted to attract more than 300 people, giving attendees the chance to try hundreds of homespun vegan dishes from roasts to pies.

When: Sunday, November 20, 3–6 p.m.

Turkey Trot at the Oregon Zoo
What: Gather the whole family for a pre-Thanksgiving jaunt through the Oregon Zoo and International Rose Test Garden. The four-mile course is untimed and opened to walkers and runners of all speeds and abilities. Expect plenty of animals, three fun kids’ events, and pumpkin pie at the finish line.
When: Thursday, November 24, 8 a.m.

Tofurky Trot
What: What better day than Thanksgiving to join forces with your fellow vegetarians? Celebrate the iconic tofu loaf on this 5K through Oaks Amusement Park, which promises tasty vegan snacks at the finish line and awards for best costume. Best of all, the event raises funds for several regional animal sanctuaries.
When: Thursday, November 24, 9 a.m.
