Self Care for Activists Workshop
2–4 p.m. Sat, Apr 1, Broad Space, $30 (scholarships available)
This workshop, led by health and wellness coach Jill Morris, aims to help activists better care for themselves. Expect meditation and exercises geared toward “building your own self care menu.” 

Wy’East Ski Mountaineering Race: Joy Break
9 a.m.­–9 p.m. Sat, Apr 1, Timberline Lodge, $35
Spend a day learning all about the world of ski mountaineering (ski-mo) racing at snowy Timberline Lodge. Even if you’re not ready to race, you can take advantage of the ski and gear demo tent, plus the post-race after party. 

Be Radiant: a self care day of yoga, massage, meditation and healing foods
9 a.m.–2 p.m. Sun, Apr 1, Humboldt Hideaway, $72–80
This daylong retreat is packed with meditation, yoga, massage, and raw vegan recipes. Price includes lunch, tea, recorded meditation, and a cooking zine from Paige Common of Eatin’ Alive.

Microbes and the Human Gut

At this Science on Tap event, Pacific University biology professor Dr. Lisa Sardinia will explain the mysteries of the human microbiome, including the effects of pre/pro/antibiotics and even fecal transplants.

Wine and Yoga

Enjoy an hour of all-level yoga class, followed by four wine tastings from the pros at Hip Chicks Do Wine.

Bridge to Brews

Select your speed (running or walking) and your distance (8 or 10 km), then cross the Fremont Bridge on foot (!) to reach libations from several local breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Each participant receives a cup and 10 tasting tickets.

This Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon fundraiser invites Portlanders of all ages and genders to revamp their spring wardrobe by trading used clothing for piles of other pre-loved fashions. 

Let's Talk About Sex(uality): A Panel
6–8 p.m. Monday, Apr 17, Beaverton Community Center, FREE
Hosted by SARC (Sexual Assault Resource Center) Oregon in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, this family-friendly panel will answer questions about sexuality, consent, and healthy relationships. 

Walk for Wishes
9 a.m.–12 p.m. Sat, Apr 22, Oregon Zoo, $15
Raise funds for Make-A-Wish—and celebrate more than 3,500 local wishes that have already been granted—at this family-friendly event filled with children’s activities, snacks, and prizes. Kids will love the behind-the-scenes walk through the zoo, and walk registration includes Oregon Zoo admission for the day.

Multnomah County Bike Commute Clinic
12–1 p.m. Wed, Apr 26, 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd, FREE
Hosted by the Street Trust (formerly the Bicycle Transportation Alliance), this one-hour clinic covers hand signaling, lane changing, route planning, gear selection, and other riding basics.

NRO Bowlathon Portland

Raise funds for the Network for Reproductive Options while bowling up a storm with your pro-choice, pro-bowling friends. The event will feature a raffle, photo booth, and prizes for teams.
