Six to 12 inches of snow in the Portland, Oregon area next Thursday—so says Canadian weather sensation Frankie MacDonald. If you’re not familiar with MacDonald—and you’re not one of his 220,000 YouTube subscribers—catch up in our interview with him last year. (The major storm he predicted then didn’t quite materialize, but we did get a light snow.)

Predictions for snow have swirling all week in news reports, with weather agencies saying it’s too early to say for sure. Still, some agencies are bracing for the worst. PBOT and TriMet have issued travel advisories

It's fair to say six to 12 inches would qualify as a major weather event in Portland. But as usual, MacDonald urges us to be prepared: order our pizzas, charge our devices, carry chains, and be safe. And if you’re looking for more tips, dust off our Guide to Surviving Snowpocalypse here.
