After completing dental school, Dr. Ashley Bennett, DDS knew that she wanted to create a patient experience in her dental office that centered around building not only trust with her patients, but also relaxation and comfort. She has done exactly that at Forest Park Dental Studio.  

Dr. Bennett purchased the practice, which has been in operation for more than three decades, at the beginning of 2020 – right before the pandemic hit. She believes that being a woman-owned dental practice is part of the clinic’s uniqueness, but also credits she and her team’s commitment to creating a non-traditional patient experience as one of the reasons why they continue to be successful.  

The office offers comfortable seating in the waiting room, and while patients wait, they can enjoy tea and coffee, snacks, sparkling water, or a glass of wine. There is also an office therapy dog – a Newfoundland Poodle mix that was trained specifically to work in the dental office – that comforts and reassures patients, both in the waiting room and in the dental chair.  

“She will nuzzle her neck into yours while you’re lying in the dental chair and if invited, she will jump up and literally give you a hug,” said Dr. Bennett. “Our patients find so much comfort in her presence – it has been the best thing for all of us.”

When the visit is over, the team provides patients with warm towels with aromatherapy to freshen up.  

Forest Park Dental Studio is also a preferred provider with Invisalign, which means they treat a lot of patients with this product. “We do a ton of the Invisalign work, and we love it,” shared Dr. Bennett.  

Dr. Bennett is proud to have been recognized by Top Doctor Magazine in 2021 and 2022 as one of the “Top Women in Dentistry.” She was also nominated this year as a “Top Dentist in Portland, Oregon”.
