Shannon Riggs is going places.

From Paris to Christchurch, from Cairns to Cairo, Shannon’s storytelling is inspired by the people she meets around the globe. That’s what makes her good at her job.
She’s curious. She’s motivated. She has a go bag. And she’s extraordinary at connecting the dots.
We all have a story. What if you could tell yours better?
Handpicked by Portland PR legend Wendy Lane Stevens as her successor at FINN Partners, a leading global marketing communications firm, Shannon was recently named a managing partner – one of the youngest in FINN’s history. She will oversee the firm’s Pacific Northwest Strategic Communications Business Unit, including its primarily Portland-based staff.
“Portland is a city of creatives, thought leaders and extraordinary brands,” says Shannon. “Around every corner is a story. My team has the privilege of leveraging those stories to drive business growth.”
Shannon began her communications career as a teen spokesperson against Big Tobacco. “I was an activist,” she says. She’s still an activist – now for clients, and for her co-workers.
“A brand’s ability to authentically connect with its audience is the difference that determines whether or not it’s heard,” says Shannon. “As strategic counselors to our clients, we are constantly evaluating all stakeholders – internal and external – tailoring our messages, and delivering strategies that make sure communication is embraced and championed by the right people, in the right places and at the right time to maximize resonance.”
While client service is Shannon’s top priority, she says the most rewarding part of her job is “leading a team of change-makers – smart, passionate communications advocates on a mission to make a difference in the world.”
